My love of makeup stemmed from watching my mother who modelled for Elly Lucas meticulously applying her makeup before she walked out onto the catwalk. My mother was my inspiration, as a young child I dreamt of the day when I would be able to be a model just like my mother and be involved in the fashion industry in someway, well I guess I achieved my dream in becoming a makeup artist.
We are all beautiful people, different shapes and sizes, we have round, square and long faces which when makeup is applied professionally can create a look which is unique enhancing your natural beauty, be it the youthful look for formals, the subtle natural look for the bride and bridal party, a natural everyday look for work, smokey eyes for that special occasion or dramatic makeup for theatrical events.
Whilst I love that my job allows me the opportunity to be artistic and innovative, the most important aspect I find most rewarding is making every woman look unique by enhancing their natural beauty and we all know that when we look and feel beautiful our self-esteem and confidence soars.
Being a qualified makeup artist I believe that education and continuous up-skilling is very important. I have attended workshops held by Guy Trinquet, Erin Shaw, Abe Zakhem and have also taken part in Makeup Master Classes by Motives, M.A.C and Bodyography. Technique, skill and keeping up-to-date with the latest styles and trends is most important!
